Bridging Visa B (BVB) Subclass 020
Leave Australia and return within a set travel period while your visa application is processed. For people who already hold a BVA or BVB. AUD575.
About the Bridging Visa B (Subclass 020)
A Bridging visa B (BVB) lets you leave and return to Australia during a specified travel period while your substantive visa application, review or judicial review is being processed.
You must already hold a BVA or BVB and have a substantial reason for wanting to travel. Make sure your BVB is granted and check your travel period before you leave, because travelling without one usually ends your bridging visa.
With this visa you can
- Leave and return to Australia within the travel period on your visa
- Stay lawfully in Australia until your application or review is finally decided
You must
- Already hold a BVA or BVB
- Have a valid substantive visa application, review or judicial review under way
- Show a substantial reason to travel, with supporting documents
Based on Department of Home Affairs information (October 2026). Costs shown are the starting visa application charge for the main applicant. Always confirm current details on the Department of Home Affairs website or ask our team. This page is general information, not migration advice.
